Petrichor V

After embarking on a (brief) quest for epic procedural planets, I happened across this great tutorial by Alaskan FX. It's amazing! After being accustomed to getting mediocre results with Blender's procedural textures, I was blown away by how nice this looked. Ok, granted, I'm not any wizard with procedural shading in Blender. But I thought I knew what I could expect.

Anyway, I happily Blendered up this planet, picking a shade of cyan that I particularly liked.

Imagine my chagrin when realizing that this was the very planet from Risk of Rain 2 that had stamped itself on my brain from my many, many launches of the game. Well, here it is in all its glory! The header image even spins about if you drag/swipe it. Behold, the wonders of gaussian splats!
